Bit Work

Gwilda teaching Mirage to accept the bit.

The weekend of October 12, BLM held a wild horse and burro adoption at New Brockton, Alabama. Donna West did a demonstration on Friday afternoon and Saturday. She is really good, and does so much safety teaching. Here, she is using a bamboo pole and what looks like John Sharp's "make a halter on the critter" technique. Nice touch, Donna!

Mustangs adopted by Gwilda Byrd and Sandra Schluter - the white mare is Gwilda's, and the mare and foal are Sandra's. Nice!!

Developing A Better Partnership with your Horse Clinic

The Florida Wild Horse and Burro association, along with Tally Ho Mustangs, sponsored a Training Clinic with Donna West, An H.S.A. Master Clinician. Ms. West is a master clinician for the Horsemanship Saftey Association and one of the few civilians to graduate from the National Mounted police School on a Mustang. She has recently returned from Australia working with the Brumbies. She has also worked with America's Living Legends at the annual Wild Horse Workshop. (www.whmentors.org/)
